Supporting Our Local Library with a Simple Tech Solution
At Simple Home Solutions, we always look for ways to give back to the community. Recently, we had the perfect opportunity to do just that—using a little tech know-how and a laptop that was no longer needed.
A client gave us an old Windows laptop they no longer used. It wasn’t in great shape and wasn’t ideal for running Windows anymore. But instead of recycling it, we saw potential.
We installed Chrome OS Flex, a lightweight operating system from Google that’s perfect for older hardware. In no time, the laptop was transformed into a fast, simple Chromebook, perfect for everyday tasks like browsing the web, checking emails, or researching.
We donated the refurbished Chromebook to North Harrow Community Library, a volunteer-run space that plays a huge role in the local area. Libraries like this are more than just books—they’re places where people learn, connect, and get access to resources they might not otherwise have.
We’re proud to support them and help their patrons stay connected.
With over 100 five-star reviews on Google, we’re grateful for the support our business receives, and we believe in paying it forward.
Do You Have Unused Tech?
If you’re a homeowner or local business with old tech sitting around—laptops, desktops, or tablets—we’d love to hear from you. We can refurbish and repurpose it to support others in the community.
Let’s work together to make a difference, one device at a time.
We worked in partnership with Voluntary Action Harrow’s Harrow Sustain IT project to provide this Chromebook, supporting local digital inclusion and community access
